kyle is pretty much a 'dress and go' kind of person. he doesn't like to dress up that much (outside of the uniform he has to wear to classes), so regardless of the weather, he'll dress casual. this is mainly a tee-shirt/long-sleeved shirt with a jacket and a pair of blue jeans along with the pair of sneakers that he bought before his sixth year. if he has to dress neater, he'll wear a black suit with a white shirt and a colorful tie - the brighter that tie is, the greater the thought process was in coming up with the color combination. as for jewelry, he wears a gold chain around his neck. it's a thin chain - when he got it over the summer before his seventh year, his parents bought it for him under the condition that it wasn't too thick.
,ANYTHING ELSE: not that he can think of

,PATRONUS:
kyle's best memory of all time was probably when he went ice skating for the first time. ice skating isn't really popular in the united kingdom, so brits on figure skates is a new concept, especially for someone as young as kyle was when he tried it - this was around his sixth birthday. it was a joyous occasion when he was helped onto the smooth surface, being held by his father. even though young kyle nearly fell down quite a few times, he always remembers it and smiles every time he does. his patronus is an emperor penguin.
,PENSIEVE:
the death of his maternal grandmother is something that he'd like to forget. he was already knee-deep in schoolwork and other extracurricular activities, and right before the christmas break, he got mail that said that his grandmother had passed away (from natural causes). for kyle, it was a hard thing to process, only because he wished that he could have been there for her in her final moments.
,ORIENTATION: heterosexual
,PERSONALITY OVERVIEW:
kyle higgs is a mysterious person. being a ravenclaw, he is a bookworm at heart, spending enough time in the library to read random fiction books in his spare time. he is a fun person to be with, however, having traits of a hufflepuff as well. he is a friendly person, with plenty of friends to keep him company. if you need a shoulder to cry on, he's there to offer his. he'll listen to anything that one has to say. on the other hand, kyle seems to get upset if he doesn't get his way. he'll bang his palms on his head if he gets something wrong in class - much to the annoyance of his fellow peers. he has a short fuse, in which he takes it out on people who start to pick on him. kyle once got in trouble after he hexed someone because they teased him after one potions class (pretty much for no reason whatsoever, except for that time in which he was called a pimple-faced geek; he has no pimples on his face).

,HISTORY OVERVIEW:
kyle james higgs was born on a muggy, late july morning to terance and mandy (brocklehurst) higgs. he was the only child born to the couple, and even though he born to a middle class family, he was used to getting his way. when he was a younger child, and before the letter from hogwarts, he knew that two days were special to him - his birthday and christmas. the higgs child was used to getting whatever his parents got during those two days, and he didn't even ask for them. video games, the latest in toys, clothing brands that he never even knew existed... whatever mom and dad got him, he played and wore it. (he can even remember his first television set, recieved when he was seven. it was a high-definition television that had to have been at least forty inches.) he thought that while the presents were nice to have, he just wasn't satisfied with being that spoiled brat.
the other thing that needs to be said about kyle's childhood? he never made a true friend. he was too busy being engrossed in his school/homework, always carrying his books in his bigger bookbag. he loved to get his homework complete right as he walked through the door; usually, he got it done within a matter of minutes, especially when he was still young and in primary school. he never talked to anyone in his classes, which was the reason why he never made friends. his teachers realized this and tried to put him in groups after school, but in his mind, homework came before silly little groups. he never attended them, only because his parents didn't want him to communicate with crazies.
at the age of eleven, kyle recieved his letter from hogwarts - right on schedule. and with no surprise, he was named as a ravenclaw at that year's sorting ceremony. it didn't come as a shock to his parents, after seeing their son complete his work with flying colors. the only thing that kyle had to work on was the communication with other students... something that he never got to do while he was in primary school. but unlike primary school, there were actually students who came from the same pool as he did. there were other halfbloods, so it wasn't as if there wasn't anyone who he could make friends with. there were boys who could be his friend. and after sitting around at the ravenclaw table in the great hall with his fellow first years, he seemed to be happier with his life. he had made a few good friends.
his second and third years were about the same as his first year, with one minor exception - he was able to help out the first years navigate the school after he studied the floor plan in his mind. he showed them where each classroom was, and he talked about the different professors in each class. this continued every year through the sixth year. in his fifth year, he was named the male prefect. it was a title that gave him a little power, especially when it came to giving out and taking away house points. if students were out of the common room after hours, he'd dock house points easily - no matter which house the student was in. he wasn't named the head boy, but he felt satisfactory that he was still named a prefect for three years.
quidditch was never an option for kyle. he didn't appreciate flying classes in his first year, so it came as no shock that he never signed up for the quidditch team. he didn't mind it, but playing it just wasn't for him. being a spectator was something that he could do better in. he set up cheers for the ravenclaws to use during the season; each cheer was different, depending on which house they were facing. this was thanks to watching muggle soccer over the summer months. he loved the chants and whatnot, and decided that it would be an interesting touch to quidditch games.
it's now his seventh year, and through all of this, he'd like to have a job in the ministry of magic. he's still not sure what he wants to do with his life. he figures that he'd just settle down with a position as a misuse of muggle artifacts employee, but that's still a last-ditch option.

,YOURSAMPLE:
it was kyle's first trip to diagon alley. he was a bit nervous to go there for the first time, mainly because he didn't know what to expect. his parents, who both went to hogwarts, tried to re-assure him that things would be okay, and that he'd make it there and back in one piece. the higgs child was still a little hesitant, however, and nobody could blame him. he was eleven and a first year. weren't all first years scared of their first trip to an unfamiliar place? kyle had heard that diagon alley was full of shops for school supplies and other miscellaneous goodies. his parents told him that once he finished up his shopping, he could get a treat or two at one of the non-essential shops. that put a smile on his face.
there was only one problem - kyle had never taken the floo network. his mother and father were familiar to this king of thing, and tried to coax him into trying it out for the first time himself. he watched as his mother took some powder, stood in the fireplace in the living room, and called her destination - diagon alley. the boy watched as his mother was gone in an instant. that looks pretty cool, he thought to himself, and his dad ushered him into the fireplace, taking a handful of powder himself. now, kyle didn't really want to travel by fireplace, but his father told him that it was okay. he also told his son to say the name of the destination very clearly, because he might be separated from his parents if he didn't. kyle shook his head; a silent way of saying 'yes, dad - i understand if i don't do this right, i'm screwed'.
"diagon alley," the higgs boy called out, dropping the powder from his hand. once he did, he was transported through the network. he could see the fireplaces of different homes from people all over wizarding london (and the united kingdom in general), and within no time at all, he found himself somewhere in the leaky cauldron, in the fireplace. it must have worked, he thought. i see my mother, and she's sitting at a table waiting for us to arrive. he was right - sitting at a table in the corner of the room was his mother. she smiled upon seeing her son, and she came over to him and pulled him out before his father came through. his mother was congratulatory, saying how proud she was seeing kyle make it through safely.
she kissed kyle on the forehead and moved him over to the table, with his father (who had made his way to the leaky cauldron as well) behind him. kyle had finally performed his first act of magic, and he thought it was the coolest thing ever.
